Kelan Yang is a costume designer working between San Diego and China. She is a visually driven designer who communicates strongly through visual languages. She sees design as a whole, working closely with all the directing and design team to bring the show to life. She is also passionate about puppet design and character development.

Her recent design credits include SpongeBob the Musical at Cygnet Theatre, Tomorrow, The Island Dies at SDSU. Previous costume design work includes Her Rage at the 2025 Fringe Festival, Six Characters in Search of an Author and Waiting for Godot at SDSU, and Perpetual (E) Motion at Malashock Dance Company in San Diego.

She worked a lot as a costume assistant on musicals and straight plays.

She also serves as an instructor in costume design at SDSU.
